As an environmentally friendly building technique, hemp building has many benefits.

Hemp masonry is naturally fire resistant so you can be sure that your hemp built house is safe and will protect you and your loved ones.

You can grow your own hemp and using only simple machinery, process the stalks to provide enough material to build your own house of hemp that was grown only metres away. although you do not need to grow your own to use this hemp building method, you can just buy direct from the nearest hemp farmer.

 Hemp lime composite is a simple low tech product that requires high standards of quality control; if carried out correctly hemp lime construction has been proven to be one of the most sustainable and successful building methods ever invented.

Another benefit of building in the Algarve is that one of the major european producers of the lime material used in this type of construction is based in Portugal with a distribution facility not too far away.
